There are hundreds of children abandoned by parents and left to live with elderly and frail grandparents in the slum areas of Kitale, Kenya. This area has a significant problem with alcohol addiction because most people feel there is no hope, since there is limited food, a very low level of education and literacy, very high unemployment, no income, and extremely bad living conditions. Many men and women are involved in brewing a both highly addictive and toxic beer. They either sell this to others at a very cheap price or just give it to them, thus bringing more into the addition net. Sadly, many people die from over consumption and poisoning while others run away and abandon their children. In many of these cases grandparents take in the children to care for them, but with no ability to work, this is almost impossible. We would like to extend the current feeding program to care for these abandoned children and their grandparents specifically, and we need your help in doing so. 100% of all money donated to this cause will provide direct relief to these children and grandparents by providing them with the daily lunch and nutrients they need to survive.
